Austria-Italy Ski Tour

A truly memorable Alpine experience!

One trip, during which you can visit two different countries and participate in a whopping three different ski marathons.

As a bonus, a ski week with Sparta coach and former top skier Raul Olle, and a chance to join the world's biathlon stars in the Anterselva World Cup. Surrounded by incredible mountain views and a sense of expanse!

About the Ski Tour

The Alpine Ski Tour begins with the Dolomitenlauf ski festival in Austria, where you can take part in both skate and classic distances. We live in the alpine village of Obertilliach, where, in addition to excellent cross-country skiing trails, there is also the Golzentipp Alpine Ski Centre just 500 metres from our hotel.

Those interested will have the opportunity to visit the biathlon World Cup stage in Anterselva on Friday and cheer for our own Estonian competitors and the best in the world!

On the 22nd of January, we will travel 150 km to Vigo di Fassa in the mountains of Italy, where a spirited and developing ski week begins with the well-known Estonian long-distance skier Raul Olle. The trainings are structured according to the levels of the participants, so that every ski lover can find a new kind of security and a greater sense of pleasure whilst skiing. This applies to descents and ascents, straight sections and bends. What’s more, Raul is sure to share recommendations and experiences from his successful career to other marathon enthusiasts.

You can ski both on the Marcialonga 70 km marathon trail and on Val di Fiemme trails. You can check out the trails early, because it is in this same area that the Winter Olympics will be held in 2026 – that way you’ll know what the track feels like when watching and cheering along in front of the TV when the time comes!

And if at any point you feel like taking a break from the cross-country trails, the valley of Val di Fassa houses seven different ski resorts that are all connected. You’ll be able to enjoy 150 different alpine slopes, 8 snow parks and 210 km of downhill fun. The highest point in the area that can be reached with a lift is the 2,950 m Passo Pordoi which offers endless views and a mountaintop café.

In Italy, you have the opportunity to participate in two different ski marathons in classic technique: In Lavazeloppet (22 km) on January 25 and in Marcialonga (45 km / 70 km) on January 28. Both are experiences in their own right, both in terms of the passionate local spectators and the peculiar trail. Lavazeloppet takes place at an altitude of 1700–1800 m, where wonderful views over the entire length of the trail open up. The previous participants called it a very picturesque marathon.

Marcialonga runs from one lovely Alpine village to another, where the locals cheer on and ring alpine bells from the balconies and windows of their homes without holding themselves back.

All ski marathons are included in the Worldloppet series and you can include them in your Worldloppet ski pass. It's your chance to keep yourself inspired by the skiing scene for many years to come, and to accumulate visits to various marathons abroad.

Accommodation and catering

The cozy Austrian family hotel Oswalderhof is located in the centre of Obertilliach and right next to the ski trails. The hotel is run by the Obererlacher family, who are also active in nature and want to create a homely feeling in each visitor by introducing and passing on local traditions.

In Italy, the accommodation is organized in The Fiores Eco Hotel, built with environmentally friendly principles in mind – a very cozy and stylish stay in the midst of the family. Another option is The Garni Bucaneve or Millennium Hotel, which are located right next to each other. The location is so convenient that you can put on cross-country skis right behind the house and jump on the trail! All hotels are located in the centre of Vigo di Fassa and by the marathon trail, max 500 m from each other.

All hotels have double rooms and breakfast and dinner are included. There is a separate room for storing ski equipment.
